John Bucchino

John Bucchino was an American songwriter born in 1952 in South Philadelphia. He began writing songs in high school and moved to Los Angeles after college. In the 1980s, he accompanied Holly Near and Australian singer David Campbell. Bucchino's breakthrough came when Stephen Schwartz encouraged him to write for the theater, and in 1992, he relocated to New York City. His musical Urban Myths premiered in 1998 at the Century II Theater in Wichita, Kansas, featuring songs like "Temporary" and "Grateful". The latter became his most popular song and was adapted into a children's book with Julie Andrews and Emma Walton Hamilton. Bucchino released several albums, including On Richard Rodgers' Piano (2003) and It's Only Life: A New Musical Review (2006).
