John Berry

John Berry – born September 14, 1959, in Aiken, South Carolina – is a country music artist best known for his 1994 number 1 hit "Your Love Amazes Me" and six further Top 10 hits, including “You and Only You” (1994), "Standing on the Edge of Goodbye" (1995), and “She's Taken a Shine" (1996). John Berry began his recording career with the releasee of the album Humble Beginnings (1979) and released another five albums in the 1980s including In the Nighttime (1981), Waiting for You (1982), Things Are Not the Same (1986), and Saddle the Wind (1988). However, he achieved significant commercial success in 1993 with his self-titled album, which went to number 13 on Billboard’s Country Music Albums chart and number 1 in Canada. The album included the number 1 single “Your Love Amazes Me.” His next two albums – Standing on the Edge (1995) and Faces (1996) – were also very successful. After the release of 1999’s Wildest Dreams, his output slowed down significantly. The albums All the Way to There (2001) and I Give My Heart (2004) charted in Billboard but beginning with 2008’s Those Were the Days, his albums did not see the same kind of commercial success that he’d experienced in the early 1990s. Surprisingly, John Berry has also built a sizable career as a holiday music artist thanks to his annual Christmas concerts and holiday albums including Oh Holy Night (1995), My Heart is Bethlehem (2000) and Celebrate This Christmas (2008).
