Joan Thiele

Italian soul, pop and R&B singer Joan Thiele was born in Desenzano del Garda (Lombardy) on September 21, 1991. Before scoring her first solo hit with "Eco" in 2025, the daughter of an Italian mother and a Swiss father with Colombian roots grew up in Cartagena, Colombia, before returning with her mother to her hometown. She lived in London for a while, then moved to Milan, where her musical career began with her version of Drake's "Hotline Bling " in 2015. following the release of a namesake debut EP, Joan Thiele was invited to the SXSW festival in Austin (Texas, USA), then recorded her debut album Tango (2016), performed in English and Spanish. Her first track sung in Italian, "Le vacanze", is released in 2019 and features on the Operazione oro EP (2020). In 2021, her collaboration with Elodie on "Proiettili (ti mangio il cuore)", included on the soundtrack to the film Burning Hearts, is awarded a David di Donatello in the "best original song" category. In 2025, Joan Thiele made a strong showing at the Sanremo Festival 2025 with the track "Eco", which reached number 20, before going on to reach number 30 in the charts. The album Joanita, released the same day, reached No. 12.
