Jess Lee

Jess Lee, born Lee Kar Wei on 1 June 1988 in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, is a Mandopop singer who began vocal training at age eight and later pursued pop songs under a vocal teacher’s guidance. After competing in Malaysian Idol in 2004 and Astro Star Quest in 2008, she entered Taiwan’s One Million Star in 2010, becoming the first Malaysian champion and earning four consecutive perfect scores before signing with Warner Music Taiwan. Her debut studio album 感謝愛人 was released on 16 September 2011, featuring the single "Torture"; the album entered the top ten in Taiwan’s physical sales charts. In 2014 she issued 天堂/懸崖, whose title track "Cliff Like Heaven" became the opening theme for the Korean drama The Master’s Sun and reached number one on the digital download list. The 2016 album 愛的風暴 included "Blizzard" and "Chain Love", both of which topped the KKBOX and Omusic charts. Jess Lee’s 2022 release 痛快 was awarded Top 20 Chinese Album of the Year at the 2022 APMA Asian Pop Music Awards, and her 2023 single "Forever Song" entered the top five on several Mandarin‑language radio stations. She has also performed international tours in Shanghai, Nanjing and Beijing, and collaborated with DJs and film soundtracks, solidifying her presence in the Mandopop market.
