Javier Perianes

Award-winning classical pianist Javier Perianes was born in Nerva, Andalusia on September 24, 1978. He studied piano lessons under Anna Guijarro at the National Superior Conservatory of Seville. After courses with Josep Colom, Alicia de Larrocha, Richard Goode and Daniel Barenboim, Perianes performed in various national and international festivals in Moscow, Shanghai, New York, and France. He won several piano competitions including third prize at the XIV International Vianna da Motta Competition in Lisbon in 2001, the first prize from the Jacinto and Innocent Guerrero Foundation, and the gold medal in the Jaén competition. Perianes performed with the world’s leading conductors including Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel, Antoni Wit, Daniel Harding, Daniel Barenboim, and many others. He has recorded many albums, most of them released on the Harmonia Mundi label. His releases include Música Callada (2006), Sonatas (2010), Moto Perpetuo (Sonats Op. 26, 31, 54, 90) (2012), and Les sons et les Parfums - Debussy Meets Chopin (2013). In 2016, he accompanied flamenco singer Estrella Morente on the album Encuentro, dedicated to popular songs written by Manuel de Falla and Federico Garcia Lorca. In 2020, he released the Cantilena album, a collaboration with violist Tabea Zimmerman.
