Janelle Arthur

Janelle Oredith Arthur, born on December 12, 1989 in Oliver Springs, Tennessee, is an American singer-songwriter. She began performing at a young age, portraying Dolly Parton in a theatrical production at Dollywood theme park and later joining the Country Tonite Theater cast in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Arthur's breakthrough moment came when she auditioned for the 12th season of American Idol, ultimately placing fifth. Following her appearance on American Idol, Arthur released her debut single "What You Asked For" in May 2014 and her first EP, Janelle, in November 2015. She has been a frequent performer at the Grand Ole Opry, appearing multiple times over the years. In addition to her music career, Arthur starred as country music star Faith Winters in the film Runnin' from My Roots released in December 2018.
