Jack Vidgen, born on 17â¯Januaryâ¯1997 in Australia, is an Australian singer who first attracted national attention as a teenager. Vidgenâs early performances at local events in Sydney, where he taught himself piano and guitar, culminated in a televised breakthrough when he auditioned for the fifth season of Australiaâs Got Talent in 2011, delivering a rendition of Whitney Houstonâs "I Have Nothing" that earned a standing ovation and ultimately the competitionâs grand prize. Following the win, Vidgen signed a recording contract with Sony Music Australia and released the single "Yes I Am" on 3â¯Augustâ¯2011; the track peaked at Numberâ¯35 on the ARIA Singles Chart. The album Yes I Am was issued on 19â¯Augustâ¯2011, debuting at Numberâ¯3 on the ARIA Albums Chart and receiving a gold certification for 35â¯000 shipments. His second studio album Inspire followed on 27â¯Aprilâ¯2012, reaching Numberâ¯23 on the chart. After parting ways with Sony, Vidgen returned to television in 2019 as a semiâfinalist on The Voice Australia, and later appeared on Americaâs Got Talent: The Champions (2020) and Iâm a Celebrityâ¦Get Me Out of Here! (2021). His career continues to feature appearances on reality shows and live performances, maintaining his presence in the Australian pop music scene.
