J Alvarez

J Álvarez, born Javid David Álvarez Fernández on December 13, 1983, in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, is a prominent figure in the reggaeton and Latin urban music scenes. He began his musical journey in 2009 with the mixtape El Dueño del Sistema, featuring collaborations with artists like De La Ghetto and Jowell & Randy. His debut studio album, Otro Nivel de Música (2011), included hits such as "La Pregunta" and "Junto al Amanecer," earning him a nomination for Best Urban Music Album at the 2012 Latin Grammy Awards. In 2014, he released De Camino Pa' La Cima, which debuted at number 2 on the Top Latin Albums chart and reached number 1 on the Latin Rhythm Albums chart, featuring collaborations with Zion and Daddy Yankee. Subsequent albums like Big Yauran (2016) and La Fama Que Camina (2018) solidified his status, with singles like "Esa Boquita" and "Rico Suave" achieving significant acclaim.
