Inglorious

Led by the rasping wails of front man Nathan James, British hard rockers Inglorious summon the roaring power of '70s and '80s metal heroes like Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and Whitesnake and unashamedly live out their classic rock fantasies. James first came to attention when he appeared - unsuccessfully - on the BBC talent show The Voice before faring better on ITV's Superstar in 2012, on which contestants competed for the lead role in the stage production Jesus Christ Superstar. He was eliminated in the later rounds of the show after a fall out with head judge Andrew Lloyd Webber, but the prog-rock extravaganza Trans-Siberian Orchestra spotted his talent on Internet and took him on tour to America. A stint in the musical Bohemian Rhapsody: The Music of Queen and a solo album followed before he set up auditions and picked Phil Beaver on drums, Drew Lowe on guitar and Colin Parkinson on bass to form Inglorious in 2014. Swedish lead guitarist Andreas Eriksson came over to the UK to play festivals with another band but ended up learning 22 songs in a week and completing the line-up for debut album Inglorious. Big riffs, big vocals, big hair and big egos were the template and they were heavily championed by Planet Rock Radio, which saw them as a triumphant throwback to the greats of British hair metal. They toured Europe and supported Steel Panther in the US, before returning with more giant, howling rock thunder on second album Inglorious II in 2017. Membership changes followed before the release of the third full-length Ride to Nowhere (2019), but James, Taylor and Beaver remained on subsequent studio albums Heroine (2021), and V (2025).
