Ikusaburo Yamazaki

Ikusaburo Yamazaki, born 山崎育三郎 on 18 January 1986 in Tokyo, Japan, is a Japanese singer and actor who began his artistic journey in musical theatre. After winning a special jury prize at a national children’s song contest in 1997 and debuting on stage in 1998, he pursued formal vocal studies and later joined Sony Music SD after being selected through the company’s 2004 artist audition programme. His recording career launched with the album 1936 – Your Songs, followed by 1936 – Your Songs II (2017), I Land (2018), and Mirror Ball ’19 (2019). In 2021 he released the digital single “誰が為”, followed by “千年トラベラー” in 2023 and “クランクアップ” in 2024. Yamazaki’s work has earned him the 36th Kazuo Kikuta Theater Award in 2010 and the Best Supporting Actor award at the 14th Confidence Drama Awards in 2025 for his stage adaptation of Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju. His discography also includes collaborative work with Yū Shirota and Matsuya Onoe, reflecting his sustained presence across Japanese musical theatre and popular music.
