Ian Chan Cheuk-yin (born on June 9, 1993 in Hong Kong) known as Ian Chan, is a Hong Kong singer-songwriter and actor. Developing an interest in music during his university years, Chan learned to play piano and guitar while he was studying at the City University of Hong Kong, winning first place in a singing contest. Taking up voice lessons soon after, Chan signed to ST Entertainment at the instigation of his vocal coach. Participating in the television competition Good Night Show â King Maker in 2018, Chan finished in second place, and was announced as a member of Hong Kong Cantopop group MIRROR. In June 2019, Chan released his debut solo single âäºæå¤§æ¨ (Phase II Building)â, followed by âå¦ä¸å諾è²ç¾ (Another Nobel)â in September that year, and in December, made his acting debut in We are the Littles (television series), which featured his Valentineâs Day single "æ£å¼éå§" (Officially Begin). While on set, Chan began writing his own songs, with his solemn single "鯨è½" (Whale Fall), released in July 2020. Chan continued writing music, collaborating with MIRROR member Anson Kong on "è¸ç" (Snail), performing a duet version of the song in September 2020, and awarded the bronze award for Male Artist of the Year at the 2020-2021 Chill Club Awards, with è¸ç" (Snail) chosen as the 6th Top Song of the Year. In 2022, Chan released three singles, âçä¸å¤©èä½ åæ¯ (A Day to Breathe with You), âGot Uâ and âDistanceâ.
