Holy Fuck

Canadian electronica group Holy Fuck was formed in Toronto in 2004 by Brian Borcherdt on keyboards and effects, Graham Walsh on keyboards and effects, and Matt “Punchy” McQuaid on bass, later joined by drummer Matt Schulz. The trio attracted attention for their live‑instrument approach that used toy keyboards, a 35‑mm film synchronizer, and other unconventional tools to create electronic‑sounding textures without laptops. Their debut album Holy Fuck was released on 1 November 2005 and was named one of the Montreal Mirror’s top ten albums that year. In 2007, the band issued LP, which earned a Juno nomination for Alternative Album of the Year in 2008 and a shortlist placement for the Polaris Music Prize. The 2010 release Latin reached Number 14 on the Billboard Dance charts and Number 40 on the Heatseekers chart, and the track "Latin America" was featured in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. After signing with Innovative Leisure in 2016, Holy Fuck released Congrats on 27 May 2016, followed by Deleter on 17 January 2020. The group toured extensively, supporting acts such as M.I.A., Wolf Parade, and Radiohead, and performed at major festivals including Coachella, Glastonbury, and Lollapalooza. Their music has appeared in television series such as Breaking Bad and Mr. Robot, and in the video game Midnight Club: Los Angeles.
