Hiroko Taniyama

Hiroko Taniyama is a Japanese female singer-songwriter born on August 29, 1956 in Suginami Ward, Tokyo and raised in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. In April 1972, she made her debut as a singer with the single "Gingakei ha Mawarimatteru" and the album "Quiet and Nice ~Hiroko Taniyama 15 no Sekai~". 1975's single "Ohayo yo yo no hat In 1975, her single "Oyayo gozaimasu no hatzan" won a prize at the 7th Popular Song Contest, and in 1977, her single "Kawa no hitori ni" reached a high of No. 29 on the Oricon. After that, she began her career as a singer in earnest, releasing numerous singles and albums, including four Top 30 hits from her 8th album "Dandelion Salad" to "Sorairoi Sunday" in 1983, and in 1985, many of her songs were broadcast on NHK's "Minna no Uta" (Songs for Everyone). He also continued to provide songs, including "Ai Ai Again/Natsukashii Asa", the theme song for Hayao Miyazaki's "Mirai Shonen Conan the Movie", and "Satsuki no Tamanegi" and "May", which he provided to Yuki Saito in 1986. He continued to work energetically, and his 31st album "Teru to Neko to Beethoven" released in 2006 included a self-cover of "Teru no Uta," which he provided to Aoi Teshima as the theme song for the animated film "Gedo Senki" produced by Studio Ghibli. In 2017, the 45th anniversary of her debut, she released the narrative album "11 Stories I Heard on the Moon," and the title song of 2019's "Hanasaka Nyanko" was broadcast on NHK's "Minna no Uta," and the album also includes a self-cover of "Asagohan no Uta," an insert song for the anime film "From Up on Poppy Hill" The album also includes a self-cover of the song "Asa gohan no uta" from the animated film "Kokuriko saka kara. In 2022, the 50th anniversary of her debut, she will release her best album "Neko to Koban", and the album's only new song "Kimi ga iru kara de" will be broadcast on NHK's "Minna no Uta", and she has continued to be active over the years.
