Heidi Talbot is an Irish folk singer born in May 1980 in Kill, County Kildare. She achieved professional recognition as a member of the Irish-American ensemble Cherish the Ladies, whom she joined in 2002. Her recording career includes the eponymous debut studio album Heidi Talbot (2002) and the studio recording Distant Future (2004), produced by John Doyle. After departing the group in 2007, she issued the studio recording In Love and Light (2008), which won an Indie Acoustic Award for best album. Her discography includes the studio recordings The Last Star (2010) and Angels Without Wings (2013), the latter featuring contributions from Mark Knopfler and Jerry Douglas. In 2023, she received the Composer of the Year award at the Scots Trad Music Awards.
