Hebert Vargas, born on January 1, 1983, in Valledupar, is a Colombian vallenato singer who first built national recognition as the lead voice of Los Gigantes del Vallenato between 1996 and 2002, a period in which he recorded radio staples such as “Inocente,” “Perdóname,” “Me mata la melancolía,” “El error,” “Te amé,” “Paro de mi corazón,” and “Se me salen las lágrimas.” He then launched a solo career with the album Identidad Propia (2004) and followed with Mi Pasión… El Vallenato (2005) and Pedacitos de Mi Vida (2009), consolidating a romantic style through signature songs including “Después del Adiós,” “No He Podido Ser Feliz,” “Daría la Vida por Ti,” and “Acuérdate.” A live retrospective, Grandes Éxitos (En Vivo) (2020), captured his catalog for a new generation, and he refreshed key hits in the digital era with releases like “Después del Adiós (Remix)” (2023). He returned to singles in 2024 with “Usted Señora,” “Farsante,” and “La Ruleta,” broadening his reach beyond traditional vallenato radio. In 2025 he highlighted his place within the genre’s lineage by issuing “Por Ellas,” an all-star collaboration featuring Nelson Velásquez, Alex Manga, Jean Carlos Centeno, Churo Díaz, Peter Manjarrés, Diego Daza, Wilfran Castillo, and Rolando Ochoa, and paired that momentum with the single “Con Sentimiento.”
