Hayley Aitken

Hayley Michelle Aitken, born 11 April 1986 in Drouin, Victoria, Australia, emerged as a pop singer‑songwriter and record producer. She first entered the music scene with the 2001 single "That Girl" under the mononym Hayley, which entered the ARIA Singles Chart top 100, followed by the 2002 hit "Kiss Me Quick" that peaked at Number 31 and marked her breakthrough. Aitken signed with Jive/Zomba and later BMG, though contractual changes delayed her planned debut album Watching TV. After parting with the label in 2004, she joined Legit Music and contributed songwriting to Ricki‑Lee Coulter’s self‑titled album, providing backing vocals on several tracks. In 2007 she formed the pop trio Scarlett Belle with Tamara Jaber and Reigan Derry, signing to Def Jam Recordings before the group was dropped in 2008. Transitioning to behind‑the‑scenes work, Aitken produced and wrote for a range of artists, including September’s "White Flag" (2011), Sweetbox’s "I Know You’re Not Alone" (2011), Julie Bergan’s "Fire" (2014), Tina Arena’s "Colours" (2015), and Lena’s "Traffic Lights" (2015). In 2015 she co‑wrote "I Want Your Love" for Eduard Romanyuta, the Moldovan entry at the Eurovision Song Contest, demonstrating her international songwriting reach. Aitken’s career reflects consistent chart presence, collaborative versatility, and sustained contributions to both Australian and global pop music.
