Hayley Michelle Aitken, born 11â¯Aprilâ¯1986 in Drouin, Victoria, Australia, emerged as a pop singerâsongwriter and record producer. She first entered the music scene with the 2001 single "That Girl" under the mononym Hayley, which entered the ARIA Singles Chart topâ¯100, followed by the 2002 hit "Kiss Me Quick" that peaked at Number 31 and marked her breakthrough. Aitken signed with Jive/Zomba and later BMG, though contractual changes delayed her planned debut album Watching TV. After parting with the label in 2004, she joined Legit Music and contributed songwriting to RickiâLee Coulterâs selfâtitled album, providing backing vocals on several tracks. In 2007 she formed the pop trio Scarlett Belle with Tamara Jaber and Reigan Derry, signing to Defâ¯Jam Recordings before the group was dropped in 2008. Transitioning to behindâtheâscenes work, Aitken produced and wrote for a range of artists, including Septemberâs "White Flag" (2011), Sweetboxâs "I Know Youâre Not Alone" (2011), Julie Berganâs "Fire" (2014), Tina Arenaâs "Colours" (2015), and Lenaâs "Traffic Lights" (2015). In 2015 she coâwrote "I Want Your Love" for Eduard Romanyuta, the Moldovan entry at the Eurovision Song Contest, demonstrating her international songwriting reach. Aitkenâs career reflects consistent chart presence, collaborative versatility, and sustained contributions to both Australian and global pop music.
