Havok is an American thrash metal ensemble formed in 2004 in Denver. The group was established by David Sanchez and Haakon Sjoegren. The band released the EP Murder by Metal in 2005 and followed with the EP Pwn 'Em All in 2007. Following these releases, the ensemble signed with Candlelight Records and released its debut studio recording, Burn, in 2009. The group's sophomore album, Time Is Up, appeared in 2011 and was associated with the thrash metal revival scene. The band performed as an opening act for ensembles including Forbidden, Anthrax, and Testament. In June 2013, the group released Unnatural Selection, which reached number 154 on the Billboard 200. After signing with Century Media Records, the ensemble released the studio recordings Conformicide (2017) and V (2020). Lead guitarist Reece Scruggs left the band in 2024 and was replaced by Brett Rechtfertig. The group released the EP New Eyes in November 2024. Founding member Shawn Chavez died on April 30, 2015.
