As a member of boy band sensation One Direction, Harry Styles's (born 1 February 1994 in Redditch, England) rise in the pop business can only be described as meteoric. After initially being eliminated from The X Factor competition as a solo performer, Harry Styles and four other similarly unsuccessful candidates were put together to form a boy band by judge and pop impresario Simon Cowell and re-entered as One Direction. Although they finished third, their obvious appeal was recognized by Cowell and he immediately signed the band for a reputed £2 million to his label Syco Records. Throughout his career with One Direction, Harry Styles racked up six BRIT Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, eleven MTV Europe Music Awards, seven American Music Awards and 27 Teen Choice Awards. They also achieved four Number 1 albums and 14 Top 10 singles (four of those number ones). Following One Direction's announcement of an indefinite hiatus, Harry Styles was signed to Columbia Records and his 2016 debut solo single went straight to Number 1 in the UK and Australia, becoming a Top 10 hit around the globe. In tandem with his recording career, Harry Styles also began to develop his acting skills and was cast in the 2017 film Dunkirk, featuring an all-star cast including Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, and Kenneth Brannagh. His 2017 single, the Prince and Elton John-channelling "Sign of the Times," was released ahead of his debut solo, self-titled album and went straight to Number 1 in the UK before his album topped the charts in the UK, US, Australia, and Canada. In December 2019, Harry Styles released his second studio album, Fine Line, featuring the singles "Lights Up" and global smash hit "Watermelon Sugar" – which won the 2021 Grammy Award for Best Pop Solo Performance, and also won Song of the Year at the 41st Brit Awards that year – and announced his 2020 concert tour, Love On Tour. His second full-length solo album, the critically acclaimed Harry's House, arrived in 2022 and shot to the top of the UK and US charts, propelled by the hit singles "As It Was" and "Late Night Talking." In late 2025, Harry Styles began hinting at a new chapter with the YouTube short “Forever, Forever,” built partly around footage from the final Love On Tour show. He officially launched his next era in 2026 with the single “Aperture” in January and the studio album Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally., released on March 6, supported by the Netflix concert special Harry Styles. One Night in Manchester. and an announced Together, Together tour starting in May 2026.
