Hanybal

The German rap artist Hanybal was born Sacha-rany Nour in Frankfurt am Main in 1983. Although he was a talented amateur footballer playing in the minor leagues, his true love was music and in particular rap and hip-hop. He started his rap career in 2006 at the age of 23 and together with fellow rapper, Solo, founded the rap duo 439 who were subsequently discovered by the rap star Azad, who immediately signed the duo to his label Bozz Music. The two rappers then released what was to be their only record release for the label, the 2011 album '439mm'. The duo split in 2012 and Nour was later signed by the Azzlackz label with his debut album as a solo artist being the label's 2015 release 'Off the Road'. The album was well received by critics and rap fans alike eventually rising to number 13 in the German album charts, establishing Nour as an up and coming hip-hop talent. The follow up album was the 2019 release 'Meat', which successfully combined Azzlack's distinctive label groove and mixed it with gritty trap style which defines the Frankfurt am Main sound used by Nour and his numerous fellow rappers from that region.
