Hagibis, a Filipino disco group from Manila, was formed in 1979 by Juan dela Cruz Band singer and bassist Mike Hanopol and record executive Vic del Rosario. The original lineup included Sonny Parsons, Bernie Fineza, Mike Respall, Joji Garcia, and Mon Picazo. Hagibis gained initial recognition with their macho image and on-stage costumes, borrowing elements from the American disco group Village People. Their debut film appearance came in 1980 with Dolphy's Angels, followed by the musical film Legs... Katawan... Babae! in 1981. The group released several albums, including their self-titled debut Hagibis in 1979. Notable songs include "Lalake" and "Nanggigigil." Original members Bernie Fineza died on January 15, 2015, and Sonny Parsons died on May 10, 2020.
