Haebaragi, a folk duo from the Republic of Korea, originated as a fourâmember mixed group before consolidating into its current twoâperson format in 1982. The members, whose individual birth dates are not publicly documented, began performing locally in the early 1970s, building a reputation for acoustic storytelling rooted in Korean folk traditions. Their breakthrough came with the release of "Person That Shares Happiness" in 1983, which established them as a notable presence on the domestic charts. Over the following decade, Haebaragi issued a series of studio albums-including Haebaragi 2nd Album (1979), Haebaragi 4th Album (1988), and Haebaragi 5th Album (1988)-and contributed the soundtrack "Everything is Love" to the film Mom's Miracle, earning the 1984 Young People's Music Award and the 1986 Gave Award from the Korean Entertainment Association. The group continued to release albums such as Haebaragi (Scent Of Your Own) (2000) and the miniâalbum For The Peace Haebaragi (2001), while maintaining a steady touring schedule across Korea. In 2009, they released Haebaragi Love1, and their most recent single "You Are My Spring" was issued in 2025. Haebaragiâs career is marked by consistent chart presence, multiple awards-including the 1990 ABU International Song Festival Grand Prize-and a lasting influence on Korean folk music.
