Grupo Manía

Grupo Manía, a Puerto Rican merengue group, was formed in 1993 by brothers Héctor "Banchy" and Oscar Serrano, along with Edwin Serrano and Alfred Cotto. The band released its debut album that year and achieved success with subsequent releases. In 1994, Edwin Serrano was replaced by Elvis Crespo, who left in 1997 for a solo career. Despite lineup changes, Grupo Manía continued to release albums such as 22 Ultimate Merengue Hits (2008) and Se Pego La Mania (2009). The group faced controversies including member departures and reunions. In 2015, Oscar Serrano left to pursue a solo career, followed by Alfred Cotto in 2016. New members joined, contributing to albums like La Marca (2016) and Los Conquistadores: 25 Aniversario (2019). Grupo Manía continued to release singles such as "Get Low" (2020) and "Hula Hoop" (2021) before dropping the album Mundialmente Manía in 2025 with a lineup featuring Héctor Serrano, Daniel Serrano, and Alfred Cotto, who rejoined the group in 2024.
