Gretel

Madeleine Haenlein, born in London, United Kingdom, is an English singer‑songwriter and guitarist known professionally as Gretel Hänlyn, then simply Gretel. Growing up in West London, she began writing music in her teens and released her debut single "Slugeye" in September 2021, followed by the EP Slugeye in May 2022. In January 2022 she issued the single "Motorbike" and later singles "Apple Juice" and "Drive" that year, building a growing fan base. Her second EP, Head of the Love Club, arrived in March 2023 to critical attention, and the Recording Academy listed her among “6 Female‑Fronted Acts Reviving Rock.” She was also highlighted by Metro as a breakout artist for 2023. In April 2026 she released her debut studio album Squish, through Breadcrumb Records / AWAL.
