Get Ready!

Get Ready! is a Belgian boy band formed in late 1995 in Belgium, comprising Jimmy Samijn, Koen Bruggemans, Glenn De Gendt, and Jean‑Marie Desreux, who performed in Dutch and French. The group’s debut single "Iemand Zoals Jij" was released on 7 January 2011, followed by "Rode Haren" on 17 June 2011, marking their entry into the national pop scene. In 1996 the band released the self‑titled album Get Ready!, followed by Go For It! in 1997 and Apollo in 1998, all featuring Dutch‑language tracks that transitioned from eurodance to pop‑rock. The 1999 release The Mission incorporated English songs in an attempt at international reach, accompanied by a promotional tour across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines. After a brief split between 2000 and 2002, the group issued Incognito in 2002. In 2006 a reunion single was issued, and by 2007 the original lineup re‑formed, though founder Glenn De Gendt departed in 2008, replaced by Tom and Kenny. The group celebrated its twentieth anniversary in 2016 with a concert featuring the four founding members and returned to the music industry, performing in July 2018 before the current lineup. The band’s discography includes the compilation Ga Door : Het Beste Van Get Ready! (2000) and the 2017 greatest‑hits album XXI (Het Beste Van!), which reaffirmed their lasting presence in Belgian pop history.
