Gareth "Gaz" Brookfield, born 4 July 1979 in Kettering, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom, is a folk musician known for his work as a singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Initially playing with various bands, Brookfield transitioned to a solo career in 2006. His breakthrough came in 2010 when he won Acoustic Magazine's Singer-Songwriter of the Year award, leading to performances at major festivals like Beautiful Days and Glastonbury. He has supported notable artists such as The Levellers and Frank Turner. Brookfield gained significant recognition for selling out the 450-capacity Fleece in Bristol multiple times, including a milestone 1,000th gig in 2014. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he released Lockdown (2020), an album about his experiences during the lockdown. His subsequent albums include Idiomatic (2021) and Morning Walking Club (2023). Brookfield has also released several live albums and reworked acoustic versions of his songs under the Solo Acoustic Guy series. In 2025 was released the album Waiting for Wisdom.
