Born in Limoges (Haute-Vienne) on October 30, 1989, Gauvain Sers grew up in Creuse, where, from an early age, he listened to the same music as his father, a great fan of French chanson. During his high school years, he indulged his taste for poetry and great authors by composing his first lyrics. Around the age of twenty, he chose the guitar to extend his work, and his texts became songs. These songs naturally inspired him to perform live. He gave his first concert in Toulouse, where he also entered engineering school. But he abandoned his studies to devote himself fully to music. His song "Mon fils est parti au djihad" caught the attention of his idol Renaud . The author of "Mistral gagnant" invited him to support him at a dozen concerts on his tour in 2016. Gauvain Sers' career accelerated when he unveiled the single "Pourvu" (No. 103), heralding a debut album of the same name released in 2017 by Mercury Records. The song benefits from a video clip directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, one of his favorite filmmakers. Two years later, he returned for a second album, Les Oubliés (n° 2), propelled by the title track. In keeping with the name of the opus, the artist chose to tour small, neglected French towns. He returned in 2021 with a third album, Ta Place dans ce Monde, which reached No. 2 in the SNEP chart. After three years devoted to touring, Gauvain Sers returned in 2025 with "Monsieur le président", the first single from his fourth album. Released in March 2026, Boulevard de l'Enfance, featuring the title track sung as a duet with Francis Cabrel, reached No. 11 in the SNEP chart.
