Gatibu, a Basque rock band from Guernica, was formed in 2000 by Alex Sardui on vocals, Haimar Arejita on guitar, Gaizka Salazar on drums, and Mikel Caballero on bass until his departure in 2022. Their debut album Zoramena (2002) was recorded with Oihuka at Iñaki 'Uoho' Antón's studios in Múgica, Vizcaya. The album featured collaborations from Adolfo Cabrales "Fito" and Roberto Iniesta "Robe", and the single "Musturrek sartunde" won the Gaztea award for Best Song of 2003. Gatibu continued to release albums including Disko infernu (2005), Laino Guztien Gainetik, Sasi Guztien Azpitik (2008), and Zuzenean Bizitzeko Gogoa (2010). Their 2016 album Aske Maitte, Aske Bizi included the singles "Nire ondoan baziña" and "Igelak". The band has consistently received awards and recognition for their contributions to Basque rock music.
