Gaspard Royant

French author, composer, guitarist and performer Gaspard Royant was born in Thonon-les-Bains, Haute-Savoie, on November 6, 1979. He learned music theory and the saxophone as a child, before turning to the guitar in his teens. Based in Paris, he was performing solo in bars when one of his tracks, "The Big Sleep", was chosen as the theme tune by director Arnaud Desplechin for his film Un conte de Noël (2008). After a debut EP, You Can Have Me (If You Want To), which won the Audience Prize at the Festival Chorus springboard in Hauts-de-Seine, Gaspard Royant collaborated with producer Liam Watson and released his first album of original songs, 10 Hits Wonder, in 2014. In addition to subsequent original albums, Have You Met Gaspard Royant? in 2016 and The Real Thing in 2018, he records several covers of Christmas carols with Wishing You a Merry Christmas (2017) and All the Best for Christmas (2024).
