Gama Bomb, a thrash metal band from Northern Ireland, was formed in 2002 by Joe McGuigan, Philly Byrne, and Luke Graham. They gained initial attention with their demo, The Survival Option (2002), and released their debut album, Survival of the Fastest, in 2005. In 2007, Gama Bomb signed with Earache Records and released Citizen Brain in 2008. The band innovatively released their 2009 album Tales from the Grave in Space as a free download, becoming the first metal band signed to a record label to do so. They continued touring extensively with notable acts such as Exodus, Overkill, Sepultura, and Dark Funeral. In 2013, they released The Terror Tapes and Bats in 2023.
