Gali Atari

Gali Atari, born Avigail Atari on December 29, 1953, in Rehovot, Israel, is an Israeli singer and actress. She began her music career at age 17 with the release of "Give Love Away" and "Im Yesh Lecha Shemesh" (If You Have the Sun), the latter becoming a hit in Israel. Atari's breakthrough came in 1979 when she won the Eurovision Song Contest as part of Milk and Honey, performing "Hallelujah". In the 1980s, Atari released several successful albums including Kach Oti Habayta (Take Me Home) (1981) and Emtza September (Middle of September) (1986), which featured the patriotic anthem "Ein Li Eretz Echeret" (I have no Other Land). Her album Tza'ad Echad Lifnei Hanahar sold over 80,000 copies in 1988. In 2003, her song "Ma Shéat Ohevet" became popular among Israeli teenage girls for Bat Mitzva celebrations.
