Gaho

Emerging on the K-pop scene in 2018 with a series of musical contributions to high-profile South Korean TV shows, young singer-songwriter and record producer Gaho (born Kang Dae-ho on September 14th, 1997) lent his voice to the soundtracks for The Time, My Secret Terrius and The Last Empress before sharing his debut album, Preparation for a Journey, in December of the same year. With his career bolstered by backing from prominent label Planetarium Records, he gradually made a name for himself with his follow-up singles including 2019’s “Fly” and “Pink Walk”, none of which charted, before enjoying a major breakthrough in 2020. Kang’s pop-rock contribution to the Itaewon Class soundtrack, “Start Over”, proved a huge success, topping both the South Korean Gaon Music Chart and the Billboard K-pop Hot 100 and later winning a Soribada Best K-Music Award and a Mnet Asian Music Award. The same year, he released another solo single, “A Song for You”, as well as songs recorded for the Stranger 2 and Start-up soundtracks, each of which failed to replicate the chart success of their predecessor but nonetheless amassed millions of streams.
