Gabito Ballesteros

Gabriel "Gabito" Ballesteros Abril, born on July 23, 1999, in Cumpas, Sonora, is a Mexican singer-songwriter in the corridos tumbados movement. Growing up in a musical family, Gabito learned guitar from his mother at the age of eight and soon mastered other instruments. By nine, he was the lead vocalist in a children's mariachi band, gaining local recognition. At 14, inspired by artists like Joan Sebastian and Julión Álvarez, he began uploading music covers online, which caught the attention of thousands of viewers. His viral cover of "Apagaré la Luz" led to collaborations with prominent artists and performances at significant events. In 2016, Gabito Ballesteros released his first single, "Yo Quiero Ser," featuring La Destructiva Norteño Banda. After a brief pause to complete his education, earning a degree in industrial engineering in 2022, he returned to music with notable singles like "El Chamán," which racked up streams by the millions. In November 2022, he collaborated with Natanael Cano and Peso Pluma on "AMG," reaching the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart and Mexico Songs chart. He followed this with several successful collaborations in early 2023, including "Vete Ya" and "La Bolsa Gucci." Gabito Ballesteros joined Natanael Cano on the Tumbado Tour in 2023 and was named Billboard Latin Artist on the Rise in July. In December 2023, he signed a publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music and was listed among Billboard's "15 Latin & Spanish Artists to Watch in 2024."
