Franco El Gorila

Hailing from Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, Franco "El Gorila" (Luis Francisco Cortés Torres) began his career in the mid-2000s as part of Wisin & Yandel's WY Records collective, gaining early recognition through the influential compilation Los Vaqueros (2006). He launched his solo journey with the debut album Welcome to the Jungle (2009), which reached number 5 on the U.S. Billboard Top Latin Albums chart and featured collaborations including “Pa’ Lo Oscuro” with Wisin & Yandel, “Millonario” with John Patiño and Cosculluela, and “Ella Es Agresiva” featuring Tony Dize. Two years later, he released his second studio album, La Verdadera Maquina (2011), highlighted by “Mi Música Buena” with Yandel, “Duelo” with Wisin, and “Dinero y Fama” featuring Arcángel. Throughout the 2010s, Franco El Gorila contributed to multiple hits in the reggaetón scene, appearing on tracks such as Jowell & Randy’s “Suave y Lento” (2010), “Mala Conducta (Remix)” (2010), and “Tremenda Sata, Pt. 3 (Remix)” (2014). He also collaborated with artists like Ozuna on “De Vez en Cuando” (2016) and Jory Boy on “Tócame” (2023), while releasing singles of his own including “Under” (2023) and “Dale con la Correa” (2025).
