Framing Hanley is an American rock band formed in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2005. The group originally performed under the name Embers Fade and posted early demos on MySpace, attracting the attention of former Creed bassist Brett Hestla, who helped them record a demo that secured a contract with Silent Majority Group. Their debut studio album, The Moment, was released on 15 May 2007 under Silent Majority Group. The following single, "You Stupid Girl", was released in 2010 and preceded their second studio album, A Promise to Burn, which arrived on 25 May 2010. The single "Criminal" from that album later appeared on the third studio effort, The Sum of Who We Are, released on 29 April 2014 through Imagen Records; a music video for "Criminal" was promoted in May 2014. In 2015 the band announced a hiatus via Facebook and returned in 2018 with a reunion tour. Their fourth studio album, Envy, was released on 21 February 2020 through Thermal Entertainment. Subsequent singles include "Start a Fire" in March 2023. Throughout their career, Framing Hanley has maintained a steady presence in the U.S. alternative rock scene, achieving chart placements on U.S. rock charts and receiving recognition such as the Top In Rock Award for Best Modern Rock Band in 2009.
