Forbidden

Forbidden is an American thrash metal band formed in 1985 in the San Francisco Bay Area. Founded by Jim Pittman and Robb Flynn as Forbidden Evil, the group shortened its name to Forbidden in 1987. The band signed with Combat Records in 1988 and released the studio album Forbidden Evil, featuring the tracks “Chalice Of Blood” and “As Good As Dead”. After performing with Testament and Exodus, the ensemble released Twisted into Form in 1990. Following lineup changes, the group issued the albums Distortion (1994) and Green (1996) before disbanding. Forbidden performed a reunion set in 2001 and resumed activity in 2007, releasing Omega Wave in 2010. After a hiatus beginning in 2012, the band reformed in 2023 with vocalist Norman Skinner. The group released the single “Divided by Zero” in 2025 and signed with BLKIIBLK Records in 2026. Former guitarist Tim Calvert died in 2018.
