Folarin Odunlami, better known as Fola or Fola Pondis, was born on April 26, 1999, in Lagos, Nigeria. Growing up in the vibrant city of Lagos, he was immersed in a rich musical culture that fueled his love for music from a young age. He spent six years honing his craft, developing his singing and songwriting talents, before releasing the single “Ginger Me” with Bella Shmurda in 2022. Other singles followed that same year, such as “Bella,” “First Things First,” and “All I Know,” as well as collaborations with Picazo and BBeatz. Following the tracks “Miss You!” and “Feeling” in 2023, Fola followed up in 2024 with the hit “Alone” featuring Bhadboi OML, which reached number 14 on Billboard’s Afrobeats chart. That same year was issued “Who Does That?” with Bella Shmurda, included on the EP What a Feeling. In 2025, Fola released the singles “Lost”, “You” and “Eko”, which charted on both the US and UK Afrobeats charts, before releasing his debut album Catharsis, which featured guest appearances from Victony, Kizz Daniel, Gabzy and Young Jonn.
