Flo & Eddie, an American comedic musical duo consisting of Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan, was formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, California. Both members were founding members of The Turtles. After the band's dissolution in 1970, Volman and Kaylan joined Frank Zappa's band The Mothers of Invention as 'Phlorescent Leech & Eddie'. Their debut album The Phlorescent Leech & Eddie was released in July 1972 on Reprise Records. They went on to release several albums including Flo & Eddie (1973), Illegal, Immoral and Fattening (1974), Moving Targets (1976), and Rock Steady with Flo & Eddie (1981). The duo also collaborated extensively as session musicians, contributing backing vocals to notable songs such as "Get It On" by T. Rex and Bruce Springsteen's "Hungry Heart". Volman passed away on September 5, 2025 at age 78 due to Lewy body dementia.
