Fire Inc.

Fire Inc. was formed in the United States as a pop‑rock group, featuring vocalists Laurie Sargent and Holly Sherwood, guitarist Rick Derringer, and a rotating lineup that later included members who joined Pandora's Box. The band’s first public exposure came in 1984 when they recorded two tracks for the film Calles de fuego, including the single "Tonight Is What Means To Be Young" and "Nowhere Fast". Although the songs achieved modest chart performance, peaking below number 80 on the Billboard Hot 100, they established Fire Inc.’s presence in the rock music scene. In 1989, producer Jim Steinman formed Pandora's Box, recruiting several former Fire Inc. members, thereby extending the group's influence into the broader rock and theatrical music markets. Fire Inc.’s discography remains limited to the two film‑associated songs, with "Nowhere Fast" later appearing on Meat Loaf’s 1984 album Bad Attitude in an alternate version. The group did not release a full album and eventually disbanded without further commercial releases. Fire Inc.’s brief career is noted for its contribution to 1980s rock soundtracks and its connection to prominent figures such as Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf.
