Fila Brazillia

Fila Brazillia is an English electronic music duo from Kingston upon Hull established in 1990. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized by electronica, trip hop, ambient, and house music. The ensemble was founded by the musician Steve Cobby and the musician David McSherry. Their recording career began with the single "Mermaids" (1991) and the single "Rankine" (1992) released on the label Pork Recordings. Fila Brazillia achieved professional recognition for the debut studio recording Old Codes New Chaos (1994). Their discography included the studio recording Maim That Tune (1995), which was dedicated to the comedian Bill Hicks, and the studio recording Power Clown (1998). They achieved professional recognition for collaborating with the musician Harold Budd and the musician Bill Nelson on the extended play Three White Roses & A Budd (2002). The ensemble achieved professional recognition for their music being featured in the television programs CSI and Sex and the City. The group became inactive in 2006 following the release of the compilation recording Retrospective. Fila Brazillia achieved professional recognition for resuming activity in March 2020 with the release of the extended play MMXX. Their recording career included the studio recording Subtle Body (2023).
