Figgy Duff

Figgy Duff was a Canadian folk-rock band from Newfoundland, formed in 1976 by Noel Dinn. The group took its name from a traditional pudding and initially traveled across Newfoundland to learn and perform traditional songs with rock elements. Their debut album, Figgy Duff, was released independently in 1980 and later by Ottawa-based Posterity Records. This was followed by After the Tempest in 1983. The band continued touring and releasing albums, including Weather Out the Storm (1990), which was nominated for a Juno Award in 1991, and Downstream (1993). Dinn died of cancer in 1993, leading to the band's disbandment. The band reunited three times post-Dinn’s death, including a silver anniversary tour in 1999 and for the release of Live Silver Reunion in 2008, which features live recordings from the band's previous reunion.
