Manuela Josefa Cabrera Taveras, known professionally as Fefita La Grande, was born on September 18, 1943, in San José, Santiago RodrÃguez, Dominican Republic. She is an accordionist and a prominent interpreter of merengue tÃpico. Cabrera began playing the accordion at a young age. She released her first LP, Si quiere venir que venga, in the late 1970s and has since released numerous albums, including Cantando He De Morir (1991), Yo Sigo Pa'lante (1995), and Date Brillo Cadenita (1999). She is known for her unique accordion style and collaborating with new tipico artists like Krisspy and El Prodigio. In 2016, she received the Gran Soberano award at the Soberano Awards.
