The Farin Urlaub Racing Team, FURT for short, was founded in Berlin in 2001. The band is the live project of musician Farin Urlaub, whose real name is Jan Vetter. Jan Vetter was born on October 27, 1963 in West Berlin. He is also the guitarist and singer of the well-known band Die Ärzte. The Farin Urlaub Racing Team consists of: Farin Urlaub (vocals, guitar), Cindia Knoke (vocals), Vanessa Mason (vocals), Celina Bostic (vocals, since 2012), Nesrin Sirinoglu (guitar), Annette Steinkamp (keyboard), Rachel Rep (drums), Hardy Appich (trumpet), Hans-Jörg Fischer (saxophone), Peter Quintern (trombone), bass players were Thomas Born (until 2008) and later Rob Shrader. The Farin Urlaub Racing Team plays a mixture of rock, punk rock, reggae and ska. The band accompanies Farin Urlaub on his solo tours and can also be heard on his solo releases. The debut album Am Ende der Sonne is released in 2005 and reaches number 2 in the German album charts. The single "Porzellan" was released in 2005. The album Die Wahrheit übers Lügen followed in 2008 and also reached number 2 in Germany. This is followed by the successful singles "Nichimgriff" (2008), "Niemals" (2009) and "Krieg" (2009). In 2014, the third album Faszination Weltraum was released, which also reached number 2 in the German charts. The single "Herz? Verloren" is released in 2014.
