Farida Mohammad Ali, born in 1963 in Kerbala, Iraq, is a singer. She performed with the Iraqi Maqam Ensemble, established in 1989 in Baghdad by Mohammad H. Gomar. Ali taught maqam singing at the Baghdad Conservatory and left Iraq in 1997. Her discography includes notable albums such as Classical Music From Iraq (1998) and Iraqi Mawal & Maqamat (2000). Ali received the Medal Algeria Capital of Arab Culture in 2007 and performed at the International Mystic Music Sufi Festival in Karachi, Pakistan.
