Fafa du coeur

Born in 1990 in Haut-Nkam, a department in western Cameroon, Falonne Hymnia Wedeu gradually made a name for herself in the music world under her pseudonym Fafa du cœur. Lulled by the music of Ben Decca and Annie Anzouer, she first moved to Douala and its many cabarets, where contact with the demands of the trade forged and refined her aesthetic vision. Fafa du cœur first came to prominence in 2014 with a featuring with Tony Nobody on the track "Baba Love", then with her track "Point d'achèvement", released in 2015. It features pop music tinged with traditional rhythms. It was two years later that her approach evolved, with a new name, Falonne Wed. "Je t'aime", unveiled to the public in 2017, sees the Cameroonian singer offering a zouk that blends with her past influences. After a few quieter years, Fafa du cœur is heard again in 2021 alongside Longue Longue for the track "Elle adore l'argent", a satire on male-female relationships and the lure of money.
