Eyedea

Micheal David Larsen, known professionally as Eyedea, was born on November 9, 1981, in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He began his career as a freestyle rapper, gaining recognition through various battle rap competitions. His breakthrough moment came with victories at Scribble Jam 1999 and the televised Blaze Battle 2000, sponsored by HBO. Eyedea's early releases included The Whereabouts of Hidden Bridges (1999) and his debut album First Born (2001) as a collaboration with DJ Abilities. Throughout his career, he released several notable albums with DJ Abilities including E&A (2004) and By the Throat (2009). Eyedea was known for his reflective and philosophical lyrics. He passed away on October 16, 2010, at the age of 28. Posthumously, he received recognition for his contributions to hip-hop culture, including the release of Eyedea: The Many Faces of Mikey in 2015.
