Eva Mei

Eva Mei, born on March 3, 1967, in Fabriano, Italy, is an Italian operatic soprano. She studied singing at the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini in Florence, graduating in 1989. Her breakthrough came in 1990 when she won the Caterina Cavalieri Prize for her performance as Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail at the Mozart Competition in Vienna, leading to her debut at the Vienna State Opera. Mei's career gained international recognition with notable roles including Donna Anna in Don Giovanni and Violetta in La Traviata at prestigious opera houses such as the Royal Opera House in London and La Scala in Milan. Her repertoire spans a wide range of operas, from Lucia di Lammermoor to Norma. Mei has also been a sought-after concert singer. In 1992, she appeared as the soprano soloist in Ludwig van Beethoven's Missa solemnis at the Salzburg Festival.
