Eva GougeonâAvila, born 25â¯February 1987 in Gatineau, Quebec, is a Canadian singer, songwriter and actress. After winning Canadian Idol in 2006, she signed with Sonyâ¯BMG Canada and released the single "Meant to Fly" in October, which reached number one on the Canadian singles chart and was certified double platinum. Her debut album Somewhere Else followed on 14â¯Novemberâ¯2006, debuting at number six on the Canadian albums chart. In 2007 she issued the EP I Owe It All to You and the single "Fallinâ for You", while touring Beyoncéâs Iâ¯Am⦠World Tour. Her second album, Give Me the Music, was released on 28â¯Octoberâ¯2008, peaking at numberâ¯63. In 2015 she released her third album Never Get Enough, and in 2018 she joined the Pink Floyd tribute band Britâ¯Floyd, retiring in 2025.
