Estrella Morente Carbonell, born in 1980 in Granada, Spain, is a flamenco singer. She began singing traditional cantes de Levante at age four and performed with maestro Sabicas at age seven. Estrella Morente's debut as a cantaora occurred at sixteen during the Gala de presentación de los Campeonatos de Esquà Alpino de Sierra Nevada. Her first album, Mi cante y un poema, released in 2001, achieved platinum status. She has collaborated with notable figures such as Enrique Morente and Carmen Linares, and her work includes contributions to film soundtracks like the tango âVolverâ for Pedro Almodóvar's film Volver. Notable albums include Mujeres (2006), Autorretrato (2012), and Copla (2019). Morente received the Medalla de AndalucÃa in 2014.
