A finalist on Idol in 2006 and member of the boy band E.M.D., Swedish singer Erik Segerstedt enjoyed success right from his solo debut with No. 1 "I Can't Say I'm Sorry". Born in Uddevalla on April 20, 1983, he completed his studies in Stockholm, and at the age of 23 auditioned for the TV show Idol, where he made it all the way to the final with a sample of classic rock and soul covers. The following year, he formed the group E.M.D. with two other Idol contestants - Danny Saucedo from the 3rd edition, like himself, and Mattias Andréasson from the 4th - and enjoyed immediate success with four tracks from their album A State of Mind, which reached No. 1. Before splitting up in 2010, the trio recorded two more albums, but Erik Segerstedt had already embarked on a flourishing solo career in parallel, with the album A Different Shade at No. 2 in 2007 and an acoustic cover of "I Can't Say I'm Sorry" at No. 1. His pop-rock career continues with "Saturday Night" (#16 in 2009) and an appearance at the Melodifestival in 2013 with "Hello Goodbye", a duet with Tone Damli. That same year, he took part in Let's Dance. On hiatus for several years, the singer is back in the spotlight twelve years later with "Show Me What Love Is". The song, which was selected for the Melodifestivalen 2025, made it all the way to the final and reached No. 11 in the Swedish charts.
