Emmanuel Horvilleur

Emmanuel Horvilleur is an Argentine singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, born Emmanuel Javier Horvilleur on January 2, 1975, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He began making music as a teenager in Pechugo, a childhood group connected to the Spinetta family circle, before forming Illya Kuryaki and the Valderramas with Dante Spinetta in 1991. The duo became one of Argentina’s most distinctive acts of the 1990s, mixing funk, rock, hip-hop, soul, and Latin grooves across albums such as Chaco, Versus, Leche, and Kuryakistan. After Illya Kuryaki split in 2001, Emmanuel Horvilleur launched his solo career with Música y Delirio in 2003, followed by Rocanrolero in 2005 and Mordisco in 2007, whose tracks “Radios,” “Tu Hermana,” “Llamame,” and “19” with Gustavo Cerati helped define his sensual, groove-led pop-rock identity. Mordisco won a Premio Gardel in 2008. He released Amor en Polvo in 2010, featuring “Amor Loco” with Brazilian singer Ana Cañas, before reuniting with Illya Kuryaki for Chances in 2012 and L.H.O.N. in 2016; the comeback era brought a Latin Grammy win for “Ula Ula.” Returning to solo work, Emmanuel orvilleur issued Xavier in 2019, then won another Premio Gardel for PITADA in 2022, a stripped-down audiovisual project that included a new version of “Amor Loco” with Zoe Gotusso. He followed with Aqua di Emma in 2023, the live EP Había Una Vez - En Vivo in 2024, and MI AÑO GÓTICO in 2025, a disco- and funk-colored album with guests including Fito Páez, Julián Kartun, Alex Anwandter, Javiera Mena, and Ale Sergi. In 2026, he continued presenting MI AÑO GÓTICO live while Illya Kuryaki and the Valderramas also returned to the stage for selected performances.
